Dream Cast for Lumen!

First off, I’m going to say a huge thank you to Mera for hosting me, and as the first to kick the whole thing off. This is going to be awesome!

If you’ve read Lumen before the re-release, when it was self-published you might have your own idea of how the characters look, but here, for the first time, I’ll be sharing who I think best suits the characters of Lumen, as well as a little commentary on why. Also, if you had/have your dream cast of who you think should play Daniel, Jac, Mia, and Reuben in the film… because, Lumen being made into a film is next on the list of things to do. I wish!

Daniel – Protagonist
Adam Gregory

I know that this actor is a lot older now, but in this picture, he looks a lot like how I imagined Daniel… as well as the Daniel that you will see on the cover upon release on the 30th. I always imaged him with a certain degree of innocence on his face, and someone who you just looked at and said “aw” how can the world be so cruel to him… oops, is that a spoiler?

Jac – Confidante
Dean Geyer (long hair)

Jac is the older brother type to Daniel, and so, when I saw him and just this whole look, I realised that this is the guy to play Jac. In recent pictures, Dean has short hair, and he plays Brody from Glee, which I couldn’t see at first, but he looks so much more like Jac with the longer hair, although I don’t think I explicitly said in the book that Jac had longer hair… well, maybe he’s growing it out.

Mia – Romantic Involvement
Emma Roberts

Not only is it Emma Roberts look that gives me Mia, it’s also how I’ve seen her in films, and it clicked, she could play the melodrama that Mia gives, not sure if she could give the British accent, but in a dream world her accent would be perfect.

Reuben – Antagonist
Hugh Laurie

Everything about this man screams Reuben! The intensity of him, but at the same time, there’s also the side that you can’t read, and I think Reuben is very hard to read… his storyline comes clearer towards the end of Lumen, and the start of Noctem.

There are only four, because these are the main characters. For Noctem, there WILL be more characters, and once you’ve read Lumen, you might have an inkling as to who those new characters to the list will be.

Thank you for joining myself and the host of this wonderful blog to celebrate the re-release of Lumen! So, if it’s not already on your Goodreads to-read list, you should go put it on: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13219801-lumen

BLURB:

On an island estranged from the rest of the world are people, people living by the teachings of the Luminary; seven pillars on which their existence rests and all belief was created. These souls have abilities that would make most mortal minds doubt their sanity, and at times it may come as a blessing, but the nature of their belief is based on a curse.

Daniel is going through his final transition, and once complete, he will be able to manipulate the bonds of his energy more freely. Not everything falls so smoothly, and after a near-death experience, Daniel is admitted into the island's only private school, a privilege he is not allowed to forget. While trying to fit in he opens mysteries and troubles beyond the life he came from, and they threaten everything and everyone he once believed in.

Could Daniel come from those legends he was taught about?
